By the end of September my Mother was fed up with being pregnant and wondering why the baby hadn't come yet. After nothing happening, the doctor decided to induce labor. She went in to the doctor, who induced labor, and again nothing happened. Mom came home. This was one stubborn baby and was going to come when he darn well pleased. I had predicted the baby would be born on October 13, and sure enough, on October 13 my Mother went to the hospital finally in labor.
All of us kids went to stay with my Aunt Avis and Uncle Tim. We were well fed and loved over there. My cousin Michael was having more and more problems in school and socially, and was almost always in trouble. He picked on me a few times while I stayed there, but generally he was off getting into trouble. I did see him drawing a few times, and he was artistically very talented.
My Aunt Avis announced to us that my Mom had had a baby boy. We were all thrilled, especially me. It was like gaining a baby doll. I was fourteen years old and I had big plans for this boy.
