It rained that Halloween in Sagamahara. Lee, and I begged our parents to allow us to trick or treat, and they let us go within several blocks of our home. There weren't many kids out in the rain so we did fairly well in the candy department. Several families gave us more than one candy and one family gave us each a Coca Cola. That bottle of Coca Cola was like getting a five dollar bill. We were awestruck.
Our time in Japan was coming to an end. Bob had been there a year before we joined him, and we had been there nearly a year. We had learned we would be returning to California in a short time. I was going to miss Japan, but I was looking forward to going home.
