Probably my first brush with celebrity was when I was only three or four. We were living with my Mother's Father and his new wife in Los Angeles. Gracie Allen's sister lived next door to my Grandparents and George and Gracie would visit her often. Mr. and Mrs. George Burns had adopted two children slightly older than myself: a son Ron and a daughter Sandra. Someone had made me a large cloth doll with yarn hair and an embroidered face. Gracie Allen would bring Sandra's old clothing to my Mother "for my doll". My Mother said most of the clothing was from Saks Fifth Avenue and they fit me perfect. So I became the best dressed toddler in dolls clothing.
